Timken Trojans on a Roll

Article by BobCraig - Monday 11 February, 2013

The Timken Trojans defeat Indian Valley 74-62 Friday and move to 11-7 on the season.
The Trojans have been outstanding making their move before they enter into tournament action. They picked up the 4th seed yesterday which Coach Hairston has to be very excited about. It's an impressive field with 1. Jackson 2. Perry 3. Barberton 4. Timken 5. McKinley 6. Wooster 7. Copley 8. Massillon 9. Kenmore and 10. Ellet

"Outstanding play by all our guards and they all made huge contributions", said head coach Rick Hairston. "Nick Johnson flashed his athletic ability and played his best all around game of the season". The Trojans had 5 players in double figures in scoring. Nick Johnson had 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists with 6 steals. Justin Williams was also outstanding with 11points and 6 rebounds. Lloyd Ellis had 11 points and did a great job running the floor. Charles Lennix had 10 points, and 3 steals. Chris Cook had 9 points and was outstanding on the boards with 14 rebounds. To cap it off freshmen Lepear Toles had10 points to move into double figures again friday, for the Trojans.

The Trojans are on a roll and are playing some of their best team ball right now. They are an outstanding defensive team and are learning how to turn up the pressure on teams when it counts. They are getting very hot just in time for the tournament. The exciting thing about Timken, is how young they are. They will return almost all their starters next year and be even more difficult to deal with. Chris Cook is having a great year, and is a senior, he has been outstanding on the boards averaging more than 10 a game. If they continue on the way they are playing, they should be extreamly exciting in the tournament.
